CAPE GIRARDEAU COUNTY, Mo. - The mighty Mississippi River is still rising in parts of Cape Girardeau County, Missouri.

Video from Highway 74 outside of Dutchtown shows water covering the road.

The road into the town is closed.

The water is quite deep and has a current, but emergency management officials are not anticipating major damage.

"At this time it looks like the preparations that needed to be made have been made, and we expect the damage to property that's not already affected to be minimal," Eric McGowen with Cape Girardeau County Emergency Management said.

McGowen says the river will crest Friday afternoon at 45 feet in Cape Girardeau.
