Authorities in Graves County have apprehended a man they believe is responsible for a rash of burglaries in the county.

Police have arrested Larry French, of Mayfield, Kentucky.

Wednesday morning, Graves County Sheriff deputies located a car in which they believed belonged to the burglary suspect.  According to authorities, deputies noticed some very expensive watches in a large display box lying in the back seat of the vehicle.

When the man was asked to exit the vehicle for questioning, he took off on foot. He was eventually apprehended behind a house near Weda Street.

Later Wednesday afternoon, French reportedly admitted to a burglary that was reported earlier in the day.

According to sheriff's deputies, a search of French's home turned up multiple items believed to be connected with other burglaries in the area.  The case is still under investigation.
