Hickman County Judge Executive withdraws reelection ticket
HICKMAN Co, Ky - Hickman County Judge Executive Greg Pruitt decided not to run for reelection Sunday after filing relevant papers in November.
Pruitt is withdrawing his ticket to run after medical advisement to get out from behind the Judge Executive desk and be more active.
This is in light of a family history of a rare disease similar to Multiple Sclerosis- Hereditary Spastic Paraplegia.
Hereditary Spastic Paraplegia is a disease that only about 20,000 people have, but about 10-11 people in his family history have or have a history of the disease.
Pruitt has no political plans, but wishes to stay active in Hickman County Economic Development.
After the decision to withdraw his ticket on Sunday, Pruitt has received three emails from the Hereditary Spastic Paraplegia Foundation to serve on the board to help raise funds and contribute to research.
Judge Executive Pruitt has been serving since 1988, and his latest term will end at the end of this year 2014.
