Illinois agency plans training on cyber security

SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (AP) - The state of Illinois plans to help emergency personnel and local governments improve their planning for computer attacks.
   
If all goes according to plan, the training in cyber security will be used around the country.
   
The Illinois Emergency Management Agency said Thursday it has gotten a $1 million federal grant to pay for the training, which will be developed with the Illinois Terrorism Task Force and the University of Illinois.
   
The training is supposed to include both classroom and online work. It's meant to educate state and local emergency response organizations on how to identify, prevent, respond to and recover from cyber incidents.
   
Once the course is developed, it will be shared with the Federal Emergency Management Agency for use around the country.
