Inmate from Calloway County dies in eastern Kentucky prison
WEST LIBERTY, Ky. - A state prison inmate from Calloway County has died from stab wounds he suffered Sunday.
The Associated Press reports that Michael S. Lynch died Monday at University of Kentucky Hospital in Lexington, where he was flown after he was stabbed in his neck. The stabbing occurred at the Eastern Kentucky Correctional Complex in West Liberty.
Lynch was one of four suspects in the beating death of Doug McGowan in October 2009. Calloway County Sheriff's deputies said Lynch, Timothy Adams, Tiffany Adams and Jessica Johnson were driving with McGowan when a fight escalated, leading to McGowan's death.
Kentucky State Police say the stabbing suspect is another inmate, Eric S. Chapman, and the stabbing remains under investigation.
