CALVERT CITY, Ky. - The Kentucky Lake Motor Speedway in Marshall County, Kentucky sold at auction Thursday.

J.P. King Auction Company sold the race track and the adjoining 317-acre property to Ronald Jones of Hopkinsville, Kentucky for $990,000.

Jones says he plans to keep the track in place.

"We're going to put a lot of effort into this," Mr. Jones said. "We honestly didn't think we'd be in the position to buy the track, but we're excited, and we're going to work hard to make it a great track again."

No word on when the track will reopen.
