A McCracken County, Kentucky man is behind bars facing drug trafficking charges.

Matthew Shane Wray was arrested while deputies were investigating an assault at a house on the 9900 block of Moore Road.

They say he drove by the house, stopped and then sped up when he noticed patrol cars in the driveway.

An investigation revealed the 19-year-old was involved in the earlier assault.

While deputies were searching Wray's vehicle, they found illegal prescription narcotics and marijuana.  He was charged with possession of a controlled substance and trafficking marijuana, among other charges.

Wray, a Kevil native, is currently lodged in the McCracken County jail.
