BALLARD COUNTY, Ky. — They're the smallest cancer patients who keep on smiling and inspiring us all to be better no matter what stands in our way. One local girl got inspired by a visit to St. Jude, saying the place gives her hope.

When Lindsay Tatum was planning her 13th birthday party, she found it to be the perfect opportunity to give back.

"I was just thinking about stuff I wanted for my birthday and came across that I wanted some Hello Kitty pajamas," Lindsay said. "I was like, 'Pajamas, St. Jude's, I should have a pajamas drive!'"

So, she sent out invitations with one request: no presents, just pajamas. To her surprise, all of her friends participated. Each and every one of them brought different sizes, colors and styles.

"I laughed," said Lindsay's mom Rebekah Tatum. "It was almost like a baby shower. She's pulling out pajamas and the girls were oohing and ahing."

They've collected nearly 30 and will hand deliver them May 12.

If you'd like to donate, you can drop off a pair of pajamas to the city hall in LaCenter and the Credit Union in Wickliffe.
