Lower speed limit set for Ledbetter Bridge, Cut Off Rd.LEDBETTER, Ky. - An area bridge is getting a lower speed limit to improve safety. The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet has lowered the speed limit on the US 60 Tennessee River Bridge at Ledbetter to 35 miles per hour. This speed limit extends 1500 feet off each end of the bridge. This 35 mile per hour speed limit is to improve traffic safety on the bridge and approaches while a 3-ton load limit is in place on the structure.
Also, KYTC is reducing the speed limit to 45 miles per hour on KY 937/Cut Off Road in Livingston County between US 60 and KY 453. This reduced speed limit is to help maintain safety due to increased traffic and heavier vehicles that are using KY 937 as an alternate route while a strictly enforced 3-ton load limit remains on the Ledbetter Bridge. This 45 mile per hour speed limit posting extends the entire length of KY 937 from mile point 0.0 at US 60 to mile point 2.949 at KY 453/Iuka Road. Due to the 45 mile per hour speed limit on this section of KY 937, the School Zone in front of South Livingston Elementary School will now have a 35 mile per hour speed limit whenever the school zone beacons are flashing.
Motorists are reminded to be aware of the speed limit changes aimed at improving safety. Most Popular
