Man arrested for robbing woman, crashing SUV into house
McCRACKEN COUNTY, Ky. - A woman says she was robbed during sleeping at her Woodlawn Trailer Park home on Meacham Lane.
McCracken County Deputies say the investigation revealed that a male subject wearing black clothing and a black ski mask had gained entry by prying open the front door. The woman woke to find the man in her home. The woman says he stole a small safe containing cash, along with the victims prescription medication and jewelry before fleeing the scene.
Deputies identified the man as 32 year-old Terry Vinson from Paducah. While searching for Mr. Vinson, deputies received a call for a black 1996 Ford Explorer that had collided with a home in the 800 block of Oaks Road, close to where Vinson had been living.
Deputies learned from the homeowners that a white male fitting Vinson’s description had crashed his vehicle into the home and fled on foot, southbound on Oaks Road.
Deputies then located Vinson walking approximately a block south of the collision. A search of the area resulted in the discovery of the stolen property from the previous robbery. It was also found during the investigation that Vinson did not have permission from the registered owner to use the vehicle that was involved in the collision.
Vinson was arrested and taken to the McCracken County Jail for multiple charges for the robbery as well as the collision.
