Man convicted of killing Herrin, Illinois resident sentenced Friday

WILLIAMSON COUNTY, Ill. - The man convicted of killing a Herrin, Illinois man in November of 2010 received his punishment Friday.

Torvelle Stanley will spend the next 50 years behind bars.

In February, a judge found Stanley guilty of first-degree murder.  Attorneys say Stanley shot and killed Jamel Davis during a botched robbery.

Investigators charged three other in the crime according to website Dateline Marion.com.

Travius Tucker was convicted of first-degree murder and is serving a 55-year prison term.

Tommy Hampton pleaded guilty to attempted armed robbery and was sentenced to 15 years in prison.

Demetrius Moore also pleaded guilty to attempted armed robbery and was sentenced to 48 months probation.  He received the sentence in exchange for testifying in Tucker's Trial.
