Man jailed on sex abuse charges

BENTON, Mo. — A local man is in custody, charged with multiple sexual related offenses.

Chad E. Dixon, 35, of Scott City, is charged with 15 counts of statutory rape in the second degree, five counts of statutory sodomy in the second degree and five counts of incest.

The Scott County sheriff said the victim reported the alleged abuse to his office Monday morning, saying the abuse took place over the past four years. The most recent incident was reported to be within the past week.

Dixon was arrested Thursday and remains in the Scott County Jail on a $100,000 bond.

The sheriff said the investigation is still under way and additional charges may be filed.
