Marshall County drug bust lands 3 in jail

MARSHALL COUNTY, Ky. - Three people are in jail after a drug investigation involving Marshall County and McCracken County detectives.

The Marshall County Sheriff's Office says 36-year-old Harold Bess, 30-year-old Amanda Stokes and 45-year-old Robert Burton were arrested on numerous drug-related charges.

Police say a search warrant was executed in the 3300 block of Griggstown Road in Marshall County after detectives seized methamphetamine in McCracken County. Marshall County detectives seized more than $37,000 in cash, along with 50 grams of meth, nearly one pound of marijuana, a loaded handgun and digital scales from the home on Griggstown Road.

Bess, of Calvert City, was charged with Trafficking Controlled Substance 1st degree 2nd offense-meth and Trafficking Marijuana over 8 ounces less than 5 pounds. Stokes, of Grand Rivers, was charged with Possession of Controlled Substance 1st degree 2nd offense-meth and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Burton, of Calvert City, was charged with Possession of Controlled Substance 1st degree 1st offense-meth, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

The Marshall County Sheriff's Office says the investigation is continuing and more arrests are likely.
