PADUCAH, Ky. (AP) - A ramshackle home at which the owner was killed in 2011 has been demolished by order of McCracken County officials.
Teresa Bolden had fought efforts to condemn the house, which was built of scrap materials, including wooden pallets. The Paducah Sun reported a county contractor's backhoe began tearing down the house on Thursday.
Bolden was making an effort to bring her house up to standards when she was found beaten to death in her front yard in December 2011. Authorities said she was struck by a shovel.
A man who was helping Bolden upgrade the house is scheduled for trial in June on murder and robbery charges. He is Ronald Lynn, who is a native of Brookport, Ill.
