MCCRACKEN COUNTY, Ky. - Drivers in McCracken County, Kentucky need to be paying close attention, especially out by the new county high school.

State highway crews and local law enforcement have been working to predict which roads will be primary routes.

As a result, two new traffic lights are up and will be turned on soon.

The traffic signal at the intersection of US 62 and McCracken Boulevard is expected to be in full operation Monday, July15, at 10 am.

The McCracken County Sheriff says they'll be out there and watching closely when it happens.

"What were concerned about is when they're initially activated, especially the local traffic. The people who drive it every day just aren't used to it being there," Sheriff Jon Hayden said.

The other traffic signal at the main entrance to the new school on US 60 will be in flashing mode Wednesday, and turned on the following week.
