A motorcyclist from Kansas, traveling through the Local 6 region, is dead after being struck by an out-of-control pick up truck.

It happened just after 7:00 p.m. Thursday in Wingo, Kentucky along U.S. Highway 45.

Graves County Sheriff, Dewayne Redmon, says the driver of the pickup, pulling a trailer, lost control after one of his tires blew out.

The truck, driven by 45-year-old Jesse Bates, of Graves County, crossed the median and then crashed into the motorcycle in the opposite lane.  The motorcyclist, 59-year-old Johnny Moss, of Hutchinson, Kansas, was pronounced dead at the Jackson Purchase Medical Center.

The driver of the pickup was not injured.
