Paducah, McCracken County, KY leaders travel to Washington, D.C. over gaseous diffusion plant's future

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Progress is being made concerning the future of the gaseous diffusion plant in Paducah, Kentucky.

Paducah and McCracken County leaders flew to Wwashington, D.C. to try to get the Department of Energy to make a decision about what will happen after 1,100 USEC employees are laid off starting in August.

Local 6's Robert Bradfield made the trip to D.C.

He sat in during a portion of that meeting and talked to Mayor Gayle Kaler about her thoughts moving forward.

Bradfield also talked to Congressman Ed Whitfield about how the Department of Energy needs to proceed with making a decision.
