Paducah man faces rape charge
PADUCAH, Ky. - A Paducah man faces charges of rape, sodomy and burglary in connection with an assault on a 68-year-old woman in May 2012.
Police arrested 42-year-old Jeffrey L. Furlow, of the 3700 block of Clarks River Road, following an extensive investigation.
The investigation began last year when a woman told officers she awoke to a man standing in her bedroom. She told police that the man then attacked her, but she used a Phillips Lifeline system to call for help, causing the man to flee.
Detectives sent evidence from the scene to the Kentucky State Police Crime Lab in Frankfort, where DNA matched Furlow.
Paducah police say Furlow fled on foot when detectives appeared at his home in the Countryaire mobile home park. He was caught a short time later and charged with 1st Degree Rape, 1st Degree Sodomy and 1st Degree Burglary.
Furlow is in the McCracken County Regional Jail.
