Students given all clear after late night bomb threat at SIUUPDATE: Students given all clear to return to their rooms in the Brush Towers on the campus of SIU-Carbondale following a late-night bomb threat. EARLIER STORY: Police in Carbondale are investigating a bomb threat in the Brush Towers resident halls on the campus of Southern Illinois University. An alert was sent out to students late Thursday evening. Here is the alert from the SIU-Carbondale Facebook page. "SAFETY ALERT: The University has been notified of a bomb threat in the Brush Towers residence halls which are currently being evacuated. Students are being directed to the Recreation Center, Student Center and Morris Library while the Towers are inspected by the Campus police assisted by K9 bomb dogs. As soon as the area is deemed safe, students will be allowed to return. Updates will be posted on this website and sent via the SIU Alert System."
