Propane truck, coal truck collide, fire and explosion reported

RANDOLPH COUNTY, Ill. - Emergency crews responded to a deadly crash in Southern Illinois Tuesday.

Illinois State Police say a propane truck and coal truck collided around 2:20 p.m. on County Line Road.  That's near the Nighhawk Coal Mine in Randolph County.

After the crash, the propane truck caught fire and at least two explosions took place.

One person is dead.

Coal mine company Knighthawk just sent out a statement saying the crash did not involve any of their employees.  They say one of the trucks was driven by a Beelman Trucking worker.  Knighthawk Coal contracts Beelman Trucking to haul material.

RANDOLPH COUNTY, Ill. - At least one person died in a fiery crash in Illinois.

Illinois State Police tell Local 6, around 2:20 p.m. Tuesday afternoon, a propane truck and a coal truck collided on County Line Road.  That's near the Blackhawk Coal mine, about four miles north of Willisville.

After the crash, the propane truck caught fire.  Four fire agencies responded.

State police also report two explosions happened during the blaze.

No other details were released.
