Report: Father charged in son's death gave conflicting versions of injuries

PORTAGEVILLE, Mo. — A man facing charges in his infant son's death is due back in court on Aug. 9.

Kade Stringfellow faces charges of abuse of a child resulting in death and second-degree murder.

The Sikeston Standard Democrat reports that Stringfellow was charged following the death of Karson Stringfellow last Wednesday at a St. Louis children's hospital.

The newspaper reports that Stringfellow gave inconsistent versions of how the injuries occurred.

He did admit he was the only one present when the child was injured.
