Salem, Kentucky man in jail on drug trafficking charges

PADUCAH, Ky. - A Salem, Kentucky man is in jail on charges of trafficking methamphetamine and possession of marijuana.

The arrest of 29-year-old Shaun E. Hunter came after an officer pulled Hunter over for speeding on US 60 in Paducah.

The officer and his K9 partner, Fox, walked around the 2008 Lincoln that Hunter was driving. That's when the dog sniffed drugs in the car.

When the officer entered the vehicle, he found seven bags of suspected methamphetamine and a small bag of marijuana. The three ounces of meth has an estimated street value of $8,400. The officer also found $1,054 in cash in the car.

Hunter is charged with speeding, first-degree trafficking of a controlled substance and possession of marijuana. He is in the McCracken County Regional Jail.
