Non-compliant sex offender arrested after traffic violations
MCCRACKEN Co, Ky - A sex offender who had not been complying with proper sex offender registration was arrested after an officer noticed his tags were out of date and running his license plate through the database.
Cary Green, 39 of Cairo, IL was listed in the database as being on supervised release only and as having to be on the sex offender registry for life for several offenses including criminal sexual assault by force and aggravated criminal sexual abuse/bodily harm.
Green was seen Monday, February 24th around 5:30 p.m. driving down Park Avenue, turning onto Stuart Nelson Park Road.
Officers tried to pull the vehicle over, and Green tried to pull into Linwood Motors trying to evade officers.
Once located, officers found that Green was driving without a current registration, insurance, and on a suspended operator's license and he was arrested for the traffic offenses.
Further investigation revealed that Green was on the Sex Offender Registry and showed him to have tried to evade persecution and to be non-compliant.
Kentucky State Police and Illinois State Police were then contacted.
ISP stated that Green had failed to notify Probation and Parole of his whereabouts.
KSP and ISP both were also unaware of where he was living; both were able to confirm that he was not living at the last known address.
It is believed that he had been living in Paducah, possibly at 622 McKinley Street.
Green was charged with Failure to notify the Department of Transportation of an address change and Failure to comply with sex offender registration and lodged in the McCracken County Regional Jail.
