Carbondale Police obtain warrant for suspect in fatal weekend shooting

CARBONDALE, Ill.— Carbondale Police have obtained an arrest warrant for the suspect in a weekend shooting that killed a former Marion High School football star.

Police are looking for 25-year-old Kely Yajid Valentino Arbuckle, also known as Jay Arbuckle, of 5287 Country Club Road, #6, in Murphysboro.

Arbuckle is charged with First Degree Murder in the death of 20-year-old Toren Stanley. His bail has been set at $1,000,000.

Police say Arbuckle should be considered armed and dangerous.

CARBONDALE, Ill.— Carbondale Police say they have a suspect in a deadly weekend shooting.

Police first started investigating Saturday morning when they were called to Memorial Hospital of Carbondale just before 3 a.m.

At that time, 20-year-old Toren Stanley had suffered a gunshot wound. He later died from his injuries.

Police say they are waiting for a search warrant.

Also, a vigil will be held tonight at 7 p.m. at Ray Fosse Park in Marion, Illinois. The vigil is being held by friends and family of Toren Stanley.

CARBONDALE, Ill.— Carbondale Police confirm 20-year-old Toren Stanley has died, and now they're looking to find out if it was a case of homicide.

Police first started investigating Saturday morning when they responded to Memorial Hospital of Carbondale just before three o'clock.

At that time, Stanley had suffered a gunshot wound. He has since succumbed to his injuries.
