MURRAY, Ky. — A man is in custody Tuesday morning after police say he stabbed his mother to death Monday evening.

Police in Murray, Kentucky said 55-year-old Karen McClellan died after she was stabbed around 7 p.m. at an apartment at 104 South 13th St. in Murray.

Police have taken her son, 34-year-old Michael Joseph Burke, into custody and charged him with murder.

Burke is currently lodged in the Calloway County Jail.
