Graves Co man pulls gun on ten friends, family Christmas day

 MAYFIELD, Ky - Police responded to a call regarding a man under the influence of drugs and alcohol, brandishing a gun and possibly holding ten people hostage.

Upon arriving at the scene, deputies learned that Benjamin W. Williams, 26 had barricaded himself inside a bedroom, brandishing a gun.

Ten victims including one infant were hiding in a room.

Williams had previously been drinking throughout the day, and had started a fight with another man who was inside the home. 

Williams then proceeded to take a revolver and point it at the man and others at the residence, firing shots at members in the party.

Deputies were able to convince Williams to surrender, and was taken into custody without incident.

He was arrested for ten counts of Wanton Endangerment, 1st Degree Possession of Marijuana and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Williams is lodged in the Graves County Jail.
