Three arrested in Henry Co. for arson charges

HENRY Co, Tenn - Three were arrested for charges of arson after a huge blaze caused evacuation from homes and completely engulfed a local tire business.

Deputies noticed flames coming from the inside of the Smith's Tire Barn located at 3940 Hwy 79 North around Friday morning at 1:01 a.m. 

The blaze was excessive in heat and size and at least three homes located directly behind the Tire Barn had to be evacuated.

The Smith's Tire Barn was a total loss from the fire as were the 17 storage units in the adjacent parking lot.

The Paris Fire Department and Paris-Henry County Rescue Squad were called to the scene.

Two people were walking down the highway, and were questioned why they were there.

The Sheriff's office conducted interviews which led to the arrest and arson charges against William Tomlin Jr., 56; Diane Tomlin, 42; and Michael Allred, 21.

The trio are charged with one count of arson, but more could be forthcoming.

The three have a bond set at $100 thousand and will appear in court Tuesday, February 25th at 9:00 a.m.
