MCCRACKEN COUNTY, Ky. - A vehicle test drive ended with an emergency trip to the hospital Monday.

It happened at the intersection of Estes Road and John Puryear Road in McCracken County.

Investigators with the sheriff's department say 64-year-old Thomas Colson of Murray was driving his truck north on John Puryear around 12:30 in the afternoon.  As Colson neared the intersection, another truck driven by 41-year-old Michael Burgess of Paducah was crossing John Puryear on Estes.

Colson thought Burgess was going to hit him so he attempted to avoid the collision, but ended up in one anyway.  Colson slammed into a car occupied by 69-year-old Gary Campell and 43-year-old Julie Riley, both of Paducah. The car was stopped at a stop sign on Estes Road.  Campbell and Riley were test-driving the vehicle.

Both Campbell and Riley were taken to area hospitals with non-life threatening injuries.
