PADUCAH - Paducah residents are finding it hard to locate rock salt or ice melt to help get rid of the ice and snow left from this past weeks worth of winter weather.

The supply of rock salt and ice melt at Hank Bros True Value Hardware on the southside has dwindled. They received two pallets of ice melt and one of salt Friday morning. It was all gone by 1:00pm.

"Can't get it in quick enough and plus the suppliers are just running out," says Jim Hank, owner of Hank Brothers hardware.

Jim's supplier is in Atlanta tells him the weather is causing problems are folks all across the country.

"I called one manufacturer yesterday and they're not even taking any more orders. They were almost laughing at me saying 'try next year'," says Jim.

With the possibility of more storms hitting the Local 6 region people were worried about the supply running out again.

"I've already used that one but we've got more ice coming and winter isn't over," says John. "I don't know what to make of it. It's cold but I don't think this is unusual."

Hank Bros. expects a shipment in Monday. Lowes, Home Depot and Wal-Mart expect another shipment February 10th. Petco sold out last month and their suppliers can't get them anymore at this time.
