MOUNT VERNON, Ill. - A southern Illinois woman was sentenced to eight years in prison plus two years of supervised release after pleading guilty Wednesday to robbing a credit union in Mount Vernon.

Jeffson County State's Attorney Douglas Hoffman says 27-year-old Amy Ramsey, of Waltonville, pleaded guilty to one count of Financial Institution Robbery in connection with a December 2012 heist at the Jefferson County Schools Credit Union.

As a condition of her plea deal, Ramsey has agreed to cooperate with law enforcement in the prosecution of her co-defendants, Jeffrey and Jessica Wilson. She will also pay court costs, along with restitution to the credit union.

Ramsey will immediately begin serving her prison sentence.
