Previous Story:
MARION, Ky. — An 89-year-old man who lived alone was found dead in his home Monday night and his killer is still on the loose.
Kentucky State Police haven't named any suspects but are looking for 50-year-old Cindy Hutchinson. Neighbors say she began hanging around Leonard Roberts last week and was seen driving Roberts car on Monday around town.
On Monday, Roberts' neighbors, Nicole and Maurice Bell, noticed his car was missing and his blinds were shut, two things they said never were the case. They knocked on windows and doors but got no answer, so Nicole called the Marion Police Department.
Around 8:30 p.m. Monday, police found Roberts dead inside his home. State Police said he was assaulted and stabbed.
"I was in tears," Nicole Bell said. "I couldn't hold it back. We loved that man. He loved our kids. He didn't deserve this. No one does but especially not him. He was a kind person."
"I'm shocked, I'm still in shock," added her husband Maurice Bell. "It doesn't make sense at all. I really would never understand. He was my friend, a role model. He planted this garden and shared his vegetables with us. He was generous."
Hutchinson is not a suspect in Roberts' murder. However, state police want to find her and talk with her because she was last seen driving around his 2001 blue Chevrolet Cavalier.
If you have any information on her whereabouts, you are asked to call Kentucky State Police.
