World War II ship stuck on Lake Barkley

LAKE BARKLEY, Ky. - Local 6 has learned that a World War II-era Naval warship, the USS LST 325, is currently stuck on Lake Barkley.

According to an employee of Buzzard Rock Resort and Marina in Kuttawa, the ship was passing through yesterday, but has been in the middle of the lake since then in an area the employee called "Bird Island."

The Army Corps of Engineers tells us the ship was scheduled to travel through the area yesterday, but was unaware that it was stuck.

The USS LST 325 passed through Paducah in 2009.
