Whitfield Seeks Details of Corps' Access Decision
Kentucky Congressman Ed Whitfield is continuing his fight against the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers plan to restrict access to water near dams along the Cumberland River and its tributaries. On Monday, Whitfield sent 3.5 pages of questions and requests for documents to the commander of the Nashville district of the Corps of Engineers and asked for a response by Friday. The letter asks for documents that led to the decision to restrict access to the water, relevant documents, where the Corps obtained $2.6 million to install barricades and other information.
