Tractor trailer wreck slows McCracken Co. I-24 traffic

MCCRACKEN COUNTY, Ky. - A Monday morning wreck on Interstate 24 has slowed eastbound traffic in McCracken Co. near Exit 11.

The wreck involving a tractor trailer and a truck hauling a sand trailer occurred around 8:30 a.m. near the Husbands Rd. exit at Paducah when a wheel came off the sand trailer and hit the semi. Both were traveling eastbound at the time.

Crews are on scene working to clear the site, but traffic is down to one lane and is expected to remain at a reduced flow until around 10 or 10:30 a.m.

Those traveling eastbound can bypass the wreck by using US 60 or US 62 to Reidland and over to I-24 Exit 16.
