Anna, Illinois teen recovering after severe beating over the weekend
ANNA, Ill. - A young man is healing in a St. Louis hospital while police try to find the person, or people, who severely beat him.
Police say the attack happened in an abandoned parking lot behind Red Bird's Printing on Main Street in Anna, Illinois.
According to the woman who found the boy's body, it's a place people call "The Sneak," a popular hangout spot for teens in the area.
Ashley Stone says she found the teen around 7 p.m. on Saturday. She says it appeared he had been beaten with a baseball bat.
Police say he was taken to Union County Hospital and was later transferred to a St. Louis hospital.
Possible suspects are being interviewed and charges are pending, according to police.
