Auditor general says computers missing at SIU
UPDATE (9:05 a.m.): SIU Carbondale spokesperson Rod Sievers has released a statement regarding missing computers at the University:
"SIU will follow the auditor's recommendations for improvement of inventory control. There were 192 from the Carbondale campus...various ages and vintage...most were old. About 40 have since been found...more could be located. No way to know if they contained personal information since they're missing and we can't take a look. But no issues have come up in that regard."
CARBONDALE, Ill. (AP) - Illinois' auditor general says Southern Illinois University must improve its accounting and inventory practices after finding 257 computers that were unaccounted for during a recent audit.
