BROOKPORT, Ill. - If the scattered pieces of life are not enough of a reminder of what happened, it does serve as a reminder of exactly when it happened.

Those that did not leave came out of their homes to find what was left and help each other as best as they can.

Trees tore through cars and transformers were downed. All of this damage came from an EF3 tornado that hit Brookport, Illinois.

Victor Hardy's business was damaged. He lives over by Unionville Road. A mile of that area is flattened; the same location where two people were killed of blunt force trauma.

He has not been back home nor has he talked to his family.

"There's nothing you can do... just hope for the best," Hardy said.

He will continue to hope and pick up what remains.
