Deadly Anna, Illinois house fire under investigation

ANNA, Ill. - Authorities in Anna, Illinois are trying to determine what sparked a deadly house fire last night.

Firefighters responded to a call about a fire at 304 WIlson Street around 9:10 p.m. last night. The fire was confined to the first floor of the two-story home.

Anna Fire Chief Mike Stoner says 71-year-old Larry Abernathy was found in the back of the home on the first floor. Firefighters pulled him out, but he was later pronounced dead.

Fire officials say the home was completely destroyed. The state fire marshal is investigating.
