Du Quoin State Fair grandstand lineup announced
DU QUOIN, Ill. - Officials have announced the grandstand lineup for the 2013 Du Quoin State Fair.
The fair opens Friday, August 23 and runs through Monday, September 2.
Performances begin on the Illinois Lottery Grandstand on August 24 with country music artist Billy Currington. Currington is best known for such songs as "People Are Crazy" and "That's How Country Boys Roll." Tickets will cost $35 and $30.
Country band Sawyer Brown takes the stage on August 26 with country music legend Lee Roy Parnell and a finalist on NBC's "The Voice," Grace Askew, opening the concert. Tickets are $25 and $20.
Gospel music artist Matt Maher will perform Tuesday, August 27, with 15-year-old Carmi native Brittany Lloyd opening for Maher. Tickets will cost $10 each.
Canadian rock band Theory of a Deadman will take the stage on Thursday, August 29. The band is known for such hits as "Bad Girlfriend," " Hate My Life" and "Not Meant to Be." Rock band Trapt will open that night's concert. Tickets are $25 and $20.
Montgomery Gentry will perform at the fair on August 30. The popular country duo has recorded five number-one hits. Tickets will cost $35 and $30.
Classic rock legends Kansas will close out the concert series on August 31. The band is best known for such hits as "Carry On My Wayward Son." Tickets are $35 and $30.
Fair officials say there will also be two free shows that will be announced at a later date.
Tickets for this year's fair go on sale June 17.
