Galatia man charged with shaking, causing brain injury to infant
GALATIA, Ill - Illinois State Police arrested Colton Campbell, 21 in an Indianapolis hospital for shaking his four month old daughter, causing her severe brain injuries.
Wednesday, December 11th, the Saline County State's Attorney filed a charge of aggravated battery against Campbell.
ISP arrested Campbell at the hospital; he is currently awaiting extradition in Saline County to face this battery charge.
Prosecutors say the child sustained injuries December 7th, and was first taken to Deaconess Hospital in Evansville and later flown to a Children's Hospital in Indianapolis.
Court papers allege the shaking has caused the child 'permanent disability'.
