Honeywell Metropolis plant plans to recall 270 employees by June
METROPOLIS, Ill. - Honeywell officials notified employees today about progress at the Metropolis, Illinois plant, and it appears not everyone will be returning to work.
A company spokesman tells Local 6 the company is still targeting a June restart of full production. The plant is currently finishing upgrades to be in compliance with regulations from the Nuclear Regulatory Commission.
When the plant was last in production, 334 employees were on the payroll. However, once production resumes in June, about 270 employees will be working. That's 135 salaried employees and 135 hourly employees.
Employee recalls began in December.
