ISP: Speed a factor in single-vehicle deadly crash
JEFFERSON COUNTY, Ill. - A 23 year-old Franklin County, Ilinois man died Saturday morning after his car hit a tree, overturned and fell down an embankment.
Illinois State Police says Ronnie Stroud was driving on Illinois Route 148 near East Flagg Road when he over-corrected his car. ISP says Stroud crossed both lanes of traffic and ended up coming to a stop upside down.
ISP says excessive speed is a factor in the wreck. Stroud was the only person in the car and no one else was hurt. Toxicology reports are pending.
