ISP launches Concealed Carry License website ahead of application date
SPRINGFIELD, ill - The Illinois State Police launched a website today to provide the public more information regarding the new Concealed Carry application process.
The Concealed Carry License (CCL) website is being launched in order to provide more information to assist in requirements, fees, forms, FAQ, etc before the January 5 application posting date.
The website will include information on how to access and obtain an Illinois Digital Identification (Digital ID) and electronic fingerprinting prior to January 5th.
While the Digital ID is required to complete the electronic CCL application, fingerprints will not be although expedited background checks will be provided for individuals who submit fingerprints.
The CCL website includes a list of licensed Live Scan fingerprinting vendors across the state, and would receive a transaction control number (TCN) from the Live Scan vendor at the time of fingerprinting. Applicants must keep the TCN to complete the application.
The CCL website is designed to streamline the application and provide a user-friendly portal for applicants.
