SPRINGFIELD, Ill. - At the Illinois State Capitol Thursday, hundreds of people gathered in support of stronger gun laws.

Governor Pat Quinn was there and spoke during the rally.

Members of the crowd were looking for what they call "common sense" laws, specifically, stricter background checks.

A state senator at the rally said stricter gun laws need to be put in place to protect children from gun violence.
