Local felon arrested on drug and weapons charges

MASSAC COUNTY, Il.— Massac County sheriff's deputies arrested a convicted felon and confiscated meth, guns, and ammunition from a residence Saturday night.
     Sheriff's deputies conducted a search on a residence in the 8000 block of Unionville Road around 8:30. Sheriff Ted Holder says complaints had been coming in about meth activity in the area for several weeks.
     Sheriff's Deputies found 56-year-old Michael Taylor had an active meth lab, meth precursors, two rifles, and ammunition in his bedroom. Taylor is a convicted felon.
     He is charged with aggravated unlawful participation in methamphetamine production, possession of methamphetamine precursors, possession of firearms by a convicted felon, and possession of firearm ammunition by a convicted felon. He is being held without bond at the Massac County Detention Center.
