Local hospitals receiving patients injured in tornados

UPDATE: The McCracken County Chief Deputy Coroner confirms one woman from Brookport died at Baptist Health Paducah. 63-year-old Scholitta Burrus died from multiple blunt force traumas. They will not perform an autopsy.

Baptist Health Paducah had 11 people come into their emergency room with injuries from today's storms and tornados. Two have been released, and the others are in various stages of treatment.

Lourdes Hospital in Paducah saw 11 patients come into their emergency room with injuries from today's storms and tornados. They had a wide variety of injuries including large bone fractures and head traumas. Two people there are in critical condition. The others are being assessed and treated.

Massac County Hospital treated a number of minor injuries like abrasions and sprains.

MASSAC COUNTY, Il.— Three local hospitals are receiving patients into their emergency rooms with injuries from today's storms and tornados.

All hands are on deck at Massac County Hospital where they have declared an external emergency. They are receiving patients mainly from the Brookport area with all types of injuries.

Baptist Health Paducah has people coming in with injuries from the storms as well, and they expect that to continue. They have declared an external emergency.

Suzanne Farmer with Lourdes Hospital says their emergency room is receiving people who have a variety of injuries from the storms. They are treating possible head injuries. A large number of their patients are coming in from Brookport.
