CHICAGO - A local lawmaker is pushing a plan to return promised pay to Illinois workers.

State Representative Jerry Costello will sponsor legislation to pay back wages owed to more than 20 thousand state workers. That money would total more than $112 million according to the American Federation of State, County, and Municipal Employees.

Costello says the wages went unpaid after Governor Pat Quinn wrongfully cancelled contractually obligated raises owed to union workers in 2011.
