CARBONDALE, Ill. - New information on a shooting that happened on East Jackson Street in Carbondale, Illinois.

Family members of Donathan Brown, who they say was shot last Wednesday, died on Friday at a St. Louis hospital.

His mother tells Local 6 he was a father of five and had another child on the way.

They say Brown was talking among a group of people in the yard of a home when someone drove up and fired multiple shots.

"It's not gonna be the same at all because he was always the one that held the family together. Then that was my dad. Now it's like I don't have no dad no more," Brown's daughter, Courtney Perkins, said.

Funeral arrangements are not complete at this time.

Thursday, Carbondale Police arrested 23-year-old Ronald Sanders Jr. of Murphysboro and charged him with aggravated unlawful use of a weapon.

Police wouldn't comment on the status of the investigation or whether the charges would be increased.
