Man receives sentence for aggravated arson guilty plea

JACKSON COUNTY, Ill. - He pleaded guilty to aggravated arson.  Now, he's been sentenced.

Jackson County, Illinois State's Attorney Michael C. Hall announced Wednesday that 33-year-old Jason W. Mann of Carbondale will serve seven years in prison for the crime.

Mann was identified as a suspect by Carbondale Police after a investigators ruled a December 2012 fire as an arson.

Mann will be eligible for parole after he serves 85-percent of his prison term.  After his release, he'll be under mandatory supervised release for three years.
