MARSHALL COUNTY, Ky. – A tip from an observant citizen led investigators to a Marshall County attic.  Inside:  a man running from authorities in Illinois.

Investigators arrested 30-year-old Derek Stalls Friday.

Illinois authorities want him for alleged theft and possession of stolen property in Pope County.

After receiving the tip, officers with the Pennyrile Narcotics Task Force, Marshall County Sheriff’s Office, Probation and Parole and Kentucky State Police went a home on Harlan Lane in Marshall County.

Once they received permission to search the house, they found Stalls hiding in an attic.  They say they found much more than the man they were looking for.

Investigators tell Local 6 they found methamphetamine and marijuana.  They also found several pieces of drug paraphernalia including syringes, a meth pipe and digital scales.

Authorities filed other charges against Stalls.  They include possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

A second person found in the home faces charges.

Authorities charged 58-year-old Vickie Keyes with similar drug charges.

The arresting officers took them to the Marshall County Jail.
